The New York metropolitan area is an amazing place to live. There may not be another place in the world that has as much to offer within a short distance. New York offers world class restaurants, professional sports, theater, musicals, water sports, ski mountains, museums, hiking, vineyards, breweries, and finally The End; Montauk.

The beauty of Montauk goes beyond the landscape into the locally owned shops, restaurants, bars, and hotels. This summer if you could use a break from the daily routine then a stay at Culloden House in Montauk is the remedy. Culloden House is the perfect place to be reminded the best vacations revolve around family and friends.

Culloden House, Montauk, NY

Culloden House is a short walk from the famous Gosman’s, the beach, restaurants, and marinas, so activities are easy to find. If you prefer to relax at the hotel you can take advantage of the outdoor fun and games that are offered. Ping pong, croquet, corn hole, and can jam are some of the guest favorites. After a long day in the sun fishing or at the beach you may not want to walk to a restaurant so you can use the barbecues and tables to have dinner.

Going out for dinner or lunch in Montauk should always include amazing seafood. For lunch Hooked is strongly recommended for the Fish and Chips as well as the fresh grilled Swordfish over a salad. At dinner time take a walk over to the Inlet Cafe at Gosman’s for some oysters and sushi as you watch boats return to Lake Montauk as the sunsets.

Montauk offers many activities for visitors. Famous for fishing you can find many skilled fishermen to take you out on charters from 4 hours and beyond. As well you can go out surf casting from many of the beaches. If you want to kick back and relax on the sand the beaches are beautiful. Montauk welcomes many campers every summer that religiously visit campsites year after year. There is also the simple pleasure of walking through town to enjoy your surroundings.

When visiting Montauk don’t forget to visit the historic lighthouse at Montauk Point. In 1792 the lighthouse was commissioned by George Washington. The construction began on June 7th, 1796 and was completed on November 5th, 1796 making it one of the oldest lighthouses in the United States. Make sure you are wearing a pair of comfortable shoes so you can climb to the top!
